With over 300 hundred days of sun per year on average Rhodes is famous for its warm climate, and may be compared to eastern Sicily in climate. A windy island and consequently many windmills it is more sheltered on its eastern coast.

From November to the end of March is the rainy season in Greece and similarly to that of the Greek islands of the Cyclades chain, though it often rains later in the latter group and temperatures there may reach lower levels.

Due to its popularity among Greek Island destinations, since it is visited by vast numbers of tourists during the summer months Rhodes the island is best visited before June and after August.
